In this wedding photography posing guide we cover the basics for posing families. When photographing the wedding formals, the part that typically takes the least amount of time is the family formals. For the more carefree group, I suggest personalizing their wedding party photographs by adding props. I always photograph each side of the wedding party in a standard pose. From there we build, gradually getting into more fun, adventurous poses.

Occasionally, the friends in the wedding party have come from different parts of the couple's life and therefore, don't know each other very well or at all. This type of situation may present a less playful group which is fine. More often than not, the bride and groom tell me the bridal party not only get along, they may be a little boisterous. I love this type of group because they tend to be more open to fun ideas ... Read More
